Job Description - Part-time Staff Specialist in Supportive & Palliative Care

The Position

An exciting opportunity for a part-time (0.6FTE) Staff Specialist in Supportive & Palliative Care ending 29 September 2024.

Successful applicants will be expected to provide admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient (including community) and on call specialty services as determined and required by the Department of Supportive & Palliative Care. You will be responsible directly to the Head of Department, Supportive and Palliative Care, Nepean Cancer Care Centre, for the provision of Supportive and Palliative Care services including patient care, research and teaching as appropriate to the diagnosis and treatment of palliative care patients across the NBMLHD.

Essential Criteria

  • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and holds a current Driver's License class C or higher. 
  • Possess Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM), Fellow of Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the Staff Specialists (NSW) Award. 
  • Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position 
  • Sound clinical knowledge in Supportive and Palliative Care demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
  • To apply, you need to be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold an appropriate work visa.
