Registered Nurse - Nurse Educator - Part-Time

Melbourne Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator to join our neuroscience ward on a part-time basis.

About us

Melbourne Private Hospital is a 124 bed private hospital co-located with the Royal Melbourne Hospital in the heart of Parkville, 1.7km from Melbourne CBD. Our hospital offers highly specialised services including extensive neurosurgery, neurology, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and general surgery. These services are supported by a 10-bed intensive care unit, 4-bed acute coronary care unit and 6-bed neurosurgical high dependency unit.

Our Neurosciences ward is a 30 bed ward including a 6-bed neurosurgical high dependency unit. This ward cares for patients with complex neurological disorders and conditions.

As the Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for:

Supporting NUM’s to achieve positive clinical outcomes

Facilitating and coordinating ALS/PALS programs

Facilitating outcomes of strategic planning initiatives

Identifying and analysing education requirements

Developing and implanting education plans

Identifying opportunities for service improvement

Coordinating hospital orientation for new employees

Essential Criteria:

·Authority to Work in Australia

·Current AHPRA registration

·Background in neurosciences with a strong focus on Neurosurgery

Bachelor of Nursing

·Cert IV in Workplace training & assessment or working towards 

·Ability to work well in an established team, leading a positive culture

·Strong leadership and change management skills

·Excellent communication and organisational skills

·Ability to provide practical and theoretical education/training to staff as required

·Experience in auditing

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope - Victoria - Nurses' and Midwives' Agreement 2021-2025" (salaries range between $35.33 and $47.25 per hour).
