As a Swissport Freight Handling Agent, you'd play a vital role in our airport operation. The airport is a fast-paced and safety focused team environment.

Responsibilities of the role:

Freight Handling Agents play a crucial role in ensuring smooth airport operations, working behind the scenes to keep everything running efficiently. Our team collaborates with a forward-thinking group dedicated to getting things where they need to be. We operate a diverse and dynamic operation, far from the typical 9-5 job, with new opportunities emerging daily for our freight team.

In this role, you will work across all areas of the Freight department. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading freight, operating forklifts, tugs, and other equipment within OH&S guidelines. Additionally, you'll use communication aids and computer equipment, including the freight warehousing system.

In this dynamic, safety-focused environment, employees will work variable schedules aligned with airline timetables, including early mornings, late shifts, and weekends. However, for this specific position, you need to be available Monday through Friday from 4PM to 10PM. There is potential for growth, varied shifts, and additional hours in the future.

What would make you stand out for this role?

• A current and valid forklift license
• Previous experience using a forklift in a warehouse environment is preferred
• A current and valid provisional or full state or territory driver’s license
• Recent experience in a manual handling or physical role, within a fast-paced operational environment
• The ability to repetitively lift items up to 32kgs in weight and successfully pass a pre-employment medical
• A passion for safety and working within OH&S guidelines at all times
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and grow.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
