Job Description - Billing Officer - Part-Time

Why this role is for you

As a part-time Billing Officer in our Operations team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of accurate and timely bill generation, reconciliation and distribution of bills to LPE’s customers.

You will become a key link to our field-based Meter Reading team, through regular job scheduling aligned to LPE’s bill schedule. You will become a subject matter expert of the LPE billing software in order to effectively analyse, monitor and resolve billing investigation, corrections, disputes, unbilled accounts, unknown consumers and conduct site billing profile audits. 

To really be successful in this role, you will be an analytical and critical thinker, be driven and motivated to problem solve through investigation and reconciliation of data and possess exceptional attention to detail. 

You will be someone who enjoys building relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to efficiently resolve billing issues and provide an exceptional billing service to our customers.

Joining a team of four, your key functions will include: 

  • Coordinate the end-to-end generation, reconciliation and distribution of bills to LPE customers; 
  • Carry out review, investigation and resolution of high and low bill variances according to established processes;
  • Upload reads into billing platform and perform data entry on customer accounts; 
  • Ensure thorough, accurate notes are entered into billing profiles; 
  • Monitor and resolve inbound tickets via a shared inbox;
  • Prepare hardcopy bills for daily post collection;
  • Act as a primary contact for property and on-site managers, coordinating outbound site billing communications; 
  • Coordinate and monitor bill hold requests ensuring authorisation is recorded as required; 
  • Coordinate field-based meter reader site reads and individual job scheduling daily; 
  • Produce various billing reporting on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis;  
  • Build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including site managers, meter readers, network providers and LPE software providers.

  • Intermediate+ Microsoft Excel skills; 
  • Previous work experience relating to accounts, accounts management or customer billing will be highly regarded.
