Job Description - Bookkeeper - Part-Time

The Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the accounts function. Working closely with the Financial Controller, the position is responsible for managing the company’s accounts receivable and payable functions, as well as running payroll and managing expenses. 

Part-time Mon – Fri 9am - 2pm 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Good Computer skills and ability to learn new systems. 
  • NetSuite experience (preferred) 
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team. 
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Great Customer service experience. 
  • Strong bookkeeper experience 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Receivable

  • Ensuring accuracy of accounts receivable records
  • Accurately posting client payments by recording eft and credit card transactions and appropriately allocating received payments
  • Resolving and validating authorised discounts on client accounts
  • Coordinating collection of current and overdue receivable accounts
  • Liaising with Dispatch team members to authorise release of products for overdue accounts
  • Issuing accounts statements to customers by the relevant deadline

Accounts Payable

  • Accurately recording accounts payable and making priority recommendations to the Financial Controller
  • Verifying supplier accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Reconciling accounts daily to ensure accurate payments
  • Processing international invoices via World First, ensuring accuracy of conversions and data.

Payroll

  • Processing weekly company payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy of entitlements, disbursements, and penalties
  • Accurately managing leave pay type requests to ensure proper entitlement balances.
  • Processing superannuation disbursements to ensure compliance with legislation
  • Maintaining compliance with Single Touch Payroll requirements for ATO
  • Monitoring and reporting leave liability and collaborating with the Financial Controller and leaders to encourage compliance with company policies

Data Entry/Administration

  • Maintaining accounting ledgers by accurately verifying and posting account transactions
  • Ensuring accurate data entry of all transactions
  • Other administrative tasks as required by the Financial Controller

GENERAL TASK

  • Manages confidentiality of all accounts information, including documentation and data.
  • Answer any finance related customer enquiries via phone and email.
  • Assisting with HR functions as required.
  • Building rapport with customers and establishing long term customer relationships.
