MATTER Consulting, a Structural Engineering Consultancy, are looking to recruit a Business Administrator to join our Adelaide office. As a Business Administrator, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to our Adelaide structural engineering consultancy team based in Adelaide CBD. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our business.

Position Overview:

This is a newly created part time position. We will negotiate with the applicant and Adelaide office team to work out the most suitable hours but anticipate this will be equivalent to three days per week. This may increase with time. The role is office based in Adelaide and the opportunity to work from home depending on compulsory company office days. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with administrative tasks for the Adelaide office, support to the Directors, associates and Business Manager including social events
  • Assist with the maintenance of QA and WHS policies and documentation to ensure re-certification of the management systems
  • Preparation of fee proposals and detailed bid submissions, including initial estimations of project values/budgets, identifying requirements of the submission in collaboration with Project Director
  • Other ad hoc duties

About you:

We are seeking a service-focused, proactive and tech-savvy individual who will provide a mature, composed and professional service to both internal staff and our valued clients.

  • Previous experience in an Administrative support role 
  • Comfortable and confident with technology – we require strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to pick up other programs we use including ProjectWorks, Notion, Chat
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a strong grasp of grammar and punctuation.
  • A strong ability to prioritise tasks, with the ability to meet tight deadlines 
  • The ability to adapt to change and the flexibility to move from one task to another with short notice
  • A keen problem solver and happy to point out ways to improve efficiencies
  • Proactive, positive and willing to support others
