Job Description - Chef/Cook

Traverse Alpine Group, a leading hospitality operator delivering high-standard food and beverage services and hotels in remote areas, is seeking a talented and qualified Chef/Cook to join their team. Responsibilities

  • Plan menus, estimate food and inventory requirements, and order supplies accordingly.
  • Prepare and cook dishes in a timely and professional manner following the recipes, presentation, and quality standards set by the company.
  • Monitor food quality and safety standards to ensure they meet or exceed industry standards and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and other helpers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen in adherence to state and local health codes and regulations.
  • Follow food cost control measures to minimize waste, reduce expenses, and maximize profitability.
  • Create and test new recipes and menu items to keep the restaurant fresh, exciting, and in line with the latest food trends.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef/Cook, with at least two years of experience in a similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, presentation, and quality standards.
  • Excellent understanding of kitchen sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to train and supervise kitchen staff effectively.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience working in remote areas and/or large-scale events is a plus.
