Child And Family Group Worker - Innovative Company - Part-Time

We are seeking a passionate and committed Child and Family Group Worker to be part of our Child and Family Team. This position is based at our outlet in Mallabula on the Tillgerry Peninsula. 

Applicants will have relevant experience and qualifications in (though not limited to) domestic and family violence and sexual assault, child protection, mental health issues, alcohol and other drug use, parenting and life skills.

The role involves either/or group programs with children (0-11 years) and casework and counselling and group programs with carers/families.

The Child and Family Team is part of the Early Intervention and Placement Prevention continuum which is aimed at reducing the likelihood of children from entering or remaining in the child protection system or from escalation into out-of-home care. The Child and Family Support service model seeks to deliver services that are evidenced based, comprehensive, responsive and delivered in a timely way.

The following selection criteria must be addressed in your application:

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or related fields;
• Demonstrated experience providing counselling/casework for families and for children around complex issues including domestic and family violence and sexual assault, child protection, mental health issues, alcohol and other drug use, parenting and life skills;
• Experience in planning, facilitating and evaluating groups for parents and for children;
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a strengths-based, trauma-informed practice informed by principles of social justice, feminism, accountability, transparency and equality;
• Current NSW or National Driver's Licence, current cleared WWCC number, Criminal History Check;
• Covid-19 vaccination status

Options for this position:

1. 18 hours per week - parent groups and parent counselling/casework and after school children's groups all year
2. 24 hours per week - parent groups and parent counselling/casework and after school children’s groups school terms only.
