Jilbup Primary School is seeking an organised, reliable and team orientated Cleaner in Charge to join the school support team.
The Cleaner In Charge is responsible for opening/closing the school (including setting the security alarm system) and will carry out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other items of general cleaning. They will also carry out external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs, general cleaning, and other such duties as required.
In consultation with the Manager Corporate Services, they will be responsible for the ordering and management of cleaning resources, maintenance of cleaning equipment, timetabling of rosters, and vacation cleaning procedures, which will include the stripping and sealing of vinyl floors, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets, pressure cleaning of verandas and undercover areas, and other such duties as required.
The successful applicant will organise and supervise our cleaning team (including arranging of relief staff) and provide on the job induction training for all new cleaning staff, conduct monthly cleaning inspections as well as record and respond to issues and concerns detailed in the communication book. They should also have a sound knowledge of safe work procedures and be responsible for reporting any maintenance issues or hazards to the Manager Corporate Services. We are looking for someone who can build positive relationships with our whole school community and is able to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
Located in Hammond Park, Jilbup Primary School is a new school opening in 2024, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The new school will include an administration block, early childhood teaching block, teaching blocks with general learning areas, inclusive education room and specialist rooms for art and science. It will also be equipped with a library, covered assembly area, music room, oval and hard courts.
