NIISWA is the statewide, cross-campus neurointerventional and advanced neuroimaging service of Western Australia. We are the first specialist neuroradiology department established in Australasia, and serve the entire Western Australian population of approximately million people.
We provide in-patient care and clinic out-patient services for treatment of vascular disease of the brain, head, neck and spine. These include brain aneurysms, vascular malformations, carotid disease and interventional stroke therapy.

About this role
This position, under the direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s) practises as a Clinical Nurse in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Making Flowchart; provides advanced, comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team; Upholds and functions within the core values of the organisation of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork & Integrity; acts as a role model, providing leadership, support, team building and change management through respect, recognition and collaboration.
Additionally the position participates in cross campus Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) and Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) and on call duties at SCGH; undertakes clinical shifts at the direction of senior staff including participation on the on-call/after hours/weekend roster when required; demonstrates relevant clinical skills, experience and assistance in complex neuroangiography and neurointerventional procedures including stroke rescue.
This role reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager - NIISWA.

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.
