Additional information:
This role is permanent part-time, 60hrs/fortnight.
The internal job title is Safety & Security Co-worker.
As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts (range of shifts starting from 8:30am to 10pm). You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).
As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates, this includes a National Police Check
If you are successful for this role, you will be required to have a current or be capable of holding an NSW 1A Security License.

About this work area

As Control Room Operator your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Monitor Access control, alarm control, and CCTV to detect any security breaches or incidents.
Be the first point of contact, managing visitors, contractors, and co-worker access to and from the store.
Providing administrative support with tasks such as audits, incident reporting, database management and filing.
Monitoring and reviewing CCTV, conducting investigations, responding quickly and efficiently to alarms, and initiating emergency response procedures if required.
Assist in ensuring the store is compliant with all IKEA and local rules, guidelines, and legislative requirements, in order to protect our assets and the IKEA brand.



As Control Room Operator you are or have:
Current valid NSW Security licence Class 1A and First Aid Certificate, or a willingness and ability to obtain these.
Passionate about promoting a safe working environment with a strong commitment to lead by example.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, being able to remain calm and clear, even during emergencies.
Proven ability to multitask and handle ad hoc tasks while maintaining daily responsibilities with a strong attention to detail.
Proficient computer skills and an ability to learn about all technical aspects of the IKEA IT systems and tools.
Experience in completing administrative and reporting tasks while adhering to deadlines.
