Job Description - Creative Arts Teacher - St Gregory's Primary, Queanbeyan NSW

Location:Queanbeyan, NSW 
Employment Type: Permanent 
Employment Status: Full-time and part-time appointments available 
Salary Range: $76,754 to $129,948 (based on skills and experience) plus superannuation (paid pro rata for part-time appointments) 
Start Date: Negotiable

About the Role 
St Gregory’s is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Creative Arts Teacher who can communicate and collaborate with colleagues with their knowledge of dance, drama and music to ensure the best outcome for the students.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Create a learning environment that stimulates learning promotes excellence, and accepts and acknowledges the needs of students to be both challenged and supported
  • Identify student needs by conferring with specialist staff in the school when necessary.
  • Communicate with and establish effective and cooperative working relationships with colleagues
  • Undertake playground, class, and other supervisions according to rosters as required
  • Work with colleagues to review and develop programs that align with the NSW curriculum
  • Assess students’ work and keep complete and accurate records of each student’s progress

Essential Criteria 

  1. Must hold NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) registration and NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation.
  2. Must have completed relevant Education/Teaching tertiary qualification.
  3. A sound knowledge of the NSW Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop productive and caring relationships with students, parents, and staff. 
  5. Classroom management and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments including managing challenging student behaviours and meeting various learning needs.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to increase participation in the boarder life of the school to develop each student's unique capabilities.
  7. The passion to work individually and collectively with students, to maximise the learning outcomes for all students.

  • You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position. 
  • Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.
