Dermatology Clinic Nurse EN / RN - Urgent Hire - Part-Time

This is a highly desirable role (regular hours, supportive environment, training given, room to expand role including nurse-led dermatology treatments) that will suit either experienced or new nurses - We welcome applicants of all levels , whether you are a new grad, or with a background in either clinic or hospital nurse, as long as you are enthusiastic with good work ethics!

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual (EN or RN) for the position of part time practice nurse (scope to increase to full time).  Our dermatology practice is continuing to grow and recently purchased next door clinic to expand to a large dermatology providing medical/surgical/cosmetic dermatology services.

This role is predominantly a general (medical and surgical) dermatology nursing role.  However we have a laser and aesthetic division within the practice, so progression in the future to performing cosmetic procedures (such as laser/injectables) is possible.  If you prefer to stay general non-cosmetic dermatology nursing, it is completely fine.

• Newly fitted specialist dermatology rooms with free on and off street parking.
• Location: Blackburn South and Croydon.
• We are experts in dermatology skin conditions, skin cancer, cosmetic and laser centre.
• We are building a large derm centre at Blackburn South in the next 18-24 months.

Hours / Location

• Part time (2 to 4 days/week), ideally able to cover for other nurses leaves.  Full time role possible in the future.
• Need to be available for BOTH Croydon and Blackburn South locations.

Description of Role

• Surgical and procedural assistance with dermatologists.
• Sterilising of surgical instruments.
• Discussion of pathology results with patients and organisation of surgical lists.
• Post-operative wound check, sutures and management.
• Dermatology photography
• Laser-treatment assisting with current cosmetic nursing team.
• UV phototherapy treatments and reviews.
• Nurse-led treatments of warts, molluscums, photodynamic therapy for skin cancers, (including utilisation of LED/IPL/laser activation).
• Reviews of specialised biologic therapies for eczema/psoriasis/urticaria/hidradenitis suppurativa

• Assistance in administration and reception duty (only when required).
• (Note: Training will be provided for many of the above - Basically the more you are keen to learn, the more you could do in the clinic!)

Essential experience/qualification:

• Nursing registration (Both EN and RN are encouraged to apply) and professional indemnity.
• Understanding and setting up of sterility field for minor procedures; removal of sutures.
• Experience in dermatology nursing is NOT crucial.
• Strong computer skills.

Desirable skills / experience (NOT essential)

• Previous nursing experience
• Previous experience and training in dermatology, laser and aesthetic.
• Computer skillset.
• Languages - Please list all conversational languages outside English

Pay

• $27.5-$42.5 per hour (determined by experience/skill set and qualification EN/RN)
