About the opportunity:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of Australian children? As our Digital Marketing Officer, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and impactful communication across our digital platforms. Your focus will be on content creation, social media engagement, and fostering connections with our community to share the positive impact of our work. This position is vital in helping us communicate our mission, engage our supporters, and attract new advocates to our cause.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to drive positive change in children’s lives across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Plan, schedule, and create engaging content for social media, website, and newsletters, with a strong emphasis on donor-centric and impact-driven story telling.
• Design graphics, write compelling copy, and produce videos that reflect Variety’s mission and engage our audience.
• Manage paid social media advertising campaigns, including budgeting, targeting, and performance analysis.
• Monitor, listen, and respond to our community online to foster engagement and support.
• Maintain and update the Variety website to ensure accuracy and engagement, reflecting current campaigns and events.
• Support the delivery of new Variety Australia website.
• Create engaging digital communications and e-newsletters to keep our community informed and highlight the impact of their support.
• Deliver dynamic social media content for Variety events, such as the Variety Bash, Variety Jet Trek and Variety 4WD Adventure to engage our audience and drive year-on-year growth.

• Permanent, 0.8 FTE (4 days per week) - Salary pro-rata.

• Ability to increase base salary by $15,900 with salary packaging benefits
• 4 weeks of annual leave (pro-rata).

Your skills: 

• Proven experience in social media management and developing content across a variety of channels.
• Basic experience in website content management.
• Ability to build and engage online communities across various social media platforms.
• Creative writing, storytelling, and content development skills to translate ideas into compelling online content.
• Ability to tailor communications to support organisational and campaign outcomes with purposeful, consistent content.
• Experience in moderating and managing online conversations effectively.
• Skills in graphic design, photography, and videography.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of the ‘Profit-for-Purpose’ sector is highly desirable.
• Ability to work as part of team but also autonomously.

Please note: the successful candidate must hold a current driver’s licence, must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Blue Card/positive Working with Children Check and must be willing to travel on events and surveys for extended periods of up to two weeks at a time, multiple times per year.
