Enrolled Nurse GPs Assistant - Immediate Start - Part-Time

Ardent Medical is a general practice group that provides primary care and general practice services to Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs). We are currently seeking an experienced Enrolled Nurse with aged care experience to join our nursing team. This is not an aged care nursing role. Instead you will work as an assistant to our GPs and provide primary care and other GP services to aged care residents.

This role will see the successful candidate:

• work part time 16 hours per week (potentially increasing to 22 hours longer term) under a 6 month contract with an option for the company to extend a further 6 months (12 months in total). The contract will continue to rollover every 6 months thereafter.
• work as an assistant to our General Practitioners and provide primary care services to residents in RACFs. This may include:
  • taking medical history
  • undertaking clinical examination
  • arranging any necessary investigations
  • implementing a management plan
  • providing appropriate preventive health care
• work at locations in Adelaide and Everard Park areas.
• work in collaboration with the aged care nurses in keeping up to date with all residents under our GP's care.
• assist with health assessments for new resident admissions and annual reviews for existing residents.
• ensure resident care plans are updated every 3 months and ready for review by the General Practitioner.
• organise, coordinate and participate in multidisciplinary case conferences
• liaise, update and seek consent from families on behalf of our GPs following a clinical decision or action.
• preparing mental health plans as directed by the GP.
• manage the General Practitioner’s appointment book, referral and assessment paperwork and ensure all medical notes are updated on all computer systems.
• assist with any other tasks as directed.

The successful candidate:

• is registered with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse
• ideally has worked in aged care or in a primary healthcare setting.
• has a work visa and is presently permitted to work in Australia
• must have their own professional indemnity insurance (a copy of your policy must be provided to Ardent Medical for record purposes).
• a great attitude and able to work in collaboration with our General Practitioner.
• is committed to the company and a team player.
• has basic computer knowledge and good social / communication skills.
