Experienced Wine Sales Assistant

We are seeking a part-time or full-time experienced wine shop assistant to join our team across our three locations in Ardross, Mt Lawley and Nedlands. We are looking for someone who has their finger on the pulse of up-and-coming wines (Australian and International), with a strong understanding of the Perth market and customer trends.

Established in 1974, we are WA's oldest family-owned Wine Shop dedicated to providing our customers with an exceptional experience. Grand Cru is a multi-faceted business that goes beyond the retail stores from private cellar management of high net-worth individuals, to customer wine storage, to private functions and tastings in our underground Cellar.
 

Key Responsibilities, in addition to your standard retail responsibilities

• Provide advice on wines to walk-in and corporate customers
• Participate in industry tastings
• Host customer tastings and private functions in the Mt Lawley cellar
• Work closely with the Head Office to manage ranging of wine categories involving interesting and allocation only wines

Requirements: 

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a wine retail environment
• Strong knowledge of wines and spirits: WSET 2, or equivalent, and higher
• Evening and weekend availability (flexible across days and evenings)
• Drive to seek new and interesting Australian and International wines
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work across multiple locations as needed
• RSA and Approved Managers (or ability to get one) essential
