Job Description - Finance And Administration - Join A Leading Company - Part-Time

We are in need of an experienced Finance and Administration to join our fast-paced team at Noarlunga Community Children's Centres in Morphett Vale, Adelaide SA.

Noarlunga Community Children’s Centres was originally established in 1976, it became a dual campus for early childhood education and care services in 1998. We provide care for approximately 200 children over 2 centres.  

We are seeking an experienced and highly personable finance and administration officer to support our services. 

The Finance and Administration employee is responsible for the administration and financial management of Noarlunga Community Children's Centre (NCCC). The Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of annual budgets, cash flow, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, management of enrolments, bookings, invoicing and collection of the Childcare Subsidy via the centre’s childcare management system, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Working relationships:
The Finance and Administration Manager works most closely with the centre directors and the administration and finance officer but is required to build strong working relationships with the entire NCCC team.
Responsibilities:
● Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger for both centres (MYOB and Google Chrome)
● Payroll for 50+ employees, paid under award and EBA conditions
● Management of waitlist, enrolments, bookings, invoicing, and collection of the Childcare
Subsidy, via the Childcare Management system, Owna
● Management of communications (to families and employees) via Owna
● Monthly bank reconciliation
● Preparation and management of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
● Submit attendances and reconcile Childcare Subsidy receipts, prepare centre fees transactions
● Preparation, presentation and maintenance of the annual budget in collaboration with centre directors
● Preparation of monthly finance reports, variance analysis and commentary for presentation to directors and Governing Council
● Management of centre cash flows, including term deposits, and cash flow forecasts
● Preparation of finance reports for management review (consolidated reporting, employee hours to budget, centre utilisation)
● Maintenance of the centre’s asset register and depreciation schedule
● Management of reserves for capital improvements
● Management of provisions for employee leave liabilities, and maintenance of employee entitlements
● Report on room equipment spending from fundraising, spending of provisions
● Maintenance of the debtors ledger, identification and management of disengaged debtors
● Management of the Additional Childcare Subsidy (ACCS Wellbeing Determinations), including maintaining privacy and confidentiality regarding sensitive information
● Preparation of statements for the Annual Incorporated Associations Return, ACNC Charities Return, Return to Work SA Return, and Insurance review
● Monthly Business Activity Statement (BAS)
● Monthly Superannuation remittance

Qualifications and experience 

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance/administration role 

 Accounting experience including accounting transaction entry (MYOB preferred), payroll, cash flow management, preparation of accounts in accordance with accounting standards, financial reporting and analysis to board level 

Experience managing the annual auditing process 

Understanding of ATO requirements (GST, FBT) and experience navigating and complying with wider statutory requirements 

Strong planning, organisational and administrative skills, including the development, implementation and maintenance of processes and procedures 

IT literacy, strong excel skills, and experience in implementing and maintaining account systems Experience in Childcare Subsidy management will be an advantage
