What is the P&C Federation NSW?
The P&C Federation NSW is a membership organisation and peak body representing the voice of public school parents and carers from 1,800 P&C Associations across NSW. The mission of the P&C Federation NSW is to empower P&C Associations and to promote and enhance public education in NSW. 

What’s the opportunity?
In this role you will have a broad remit to deliver a highly effective and compliant finance function. This is an immersive finance role with a focus on process enhancement and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the CEO, your responsibilities will also see you:

• Undertake all transactional accounting activities including payroll, accounts payable/receivable and regularly review expenditure
• Prepare management, board and Annual General Meeting reports, plus develop and deliver financial balanced scorecard and KPI reports
• Offer sound, data informed advice, analyse internal and external data to identify trends and opportunities, and support continuous innovation and business development efforts
• Complete and present annual budgeting and forecasting (with board approval), and closely monitor cash flow and financial performance
• Monitor and advise the Finance Audit and Risk Committee and the Board on the investment portfolio, manage relationships with advisors, oversee their performance evaluations, and offer guidance on advisor appointments

What will you bring to the role?
To date you have demonstrated a strong understanding of accounting principles, processes, practices and obligations, ideally in a not for profit organisation or member association.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate:

• Tertiary qualification/s in Business, Accounting, Commerce, Finance or Economics (CPA or ICA preferred)
• Confidence in reporting to the CEO and board, offering strategic planning input along with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills, the capacity to work independently, successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Highly developed written, oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Integrity and ethics in handling sensitive financial information and maintaining confidentiality
