Classification: ES1-2 (12 months Fixed Term with possibility of ongoing) | Reference: 1415858

Responsible to: Operations Manager (Mr Scott Tanner)

Time Fraction: 0.8 (30.4 Hours, Monday to Friday) - 8:45am to 3:30pm (hours negotiable for the right candidate)

Werribee Secondary College is located in Duncans Road, Werribee, a 30-minute drive from the Melbourne and Geelong central business districts. Ample free staff parking is provided on site. The Werribee Railway Station is located just 10 minutes away by foot. The College currently employs over 150 staff including Principals, Leading Teachers, Learning Specialists, Classroom Teachers and Education Support. FIRST AID | ADMINISTRATION ROLE DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

The First Aid | Administration officer will work as a member of the wider team at Werribee Secondary College providing student first aid and undertaking a range of tasks that assist with the smooth and efficient delivery of first aid and related tasks/ areas across the College.

FIRST AID

  • Maintain relevant First Aid and related qualifications (Anaphylaxis/ CPR etc).
  • Designated Priority First Aid; being the primary staff member to provide student first aid in response to accidents and incidents across the campus.
  • Oversee and coordinate first aid in an emergency on campus.
  • When the situation requires, arrange/ consult with ambulance or medical services for appropriate course of action. In these circumstances a member of the College Leadership Team is to be informed.
  • Coordinate the delivery of staff first aid/ CPR & anaphylaxis training through external provider and maintain training records.
  • Maintain Anaphylaxis auto injector training and provide Anaphylaxis training to staff as required.
  • Manage and maintain student health/ first aid (asthma | anaphylaxis etc) management plans, equipment, medication, and other associated/required documentation.
  • Liaises with Student Administration staff and assist in maintaining student first aid records in various databases (i.e. CASES/ Compass/ EduSafe)
  • Maintain First Aid supplies, carrying out required checks of all first aid kits ensuring they are suitably stocked and all items within date.
  • Maintain First Aid room including first Aid supplies and required documentation.
  • Communication with Parents/ carers and staff related to First Aid.
  • Understand and operate within the guidelines of both Departmental and College policies and procedures.

ADMINSTRATION

  • Provide back up with printing of SAC’s & Exams.
  • Assist in maintaining OH&S systems & processes at the College.

GENERAL

  • Actively seek and participate in professional development (Subject to School P&D guidelines)

  • The range of duties may be expanded at any time in the future or as directed by the Principal or Operations Manager in accordance with ES1-2 dimensions of work.
