General Practice Nurse - Part-Time

Cammeray Medical Practice is currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our friendly, dynamic general medical practice.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Triage of patients
• Immunizations
• Wound care management
• Assisting doctors with various procedures (e.g. Skin biopsy, mirena insertion, iron infusion etc.)
• Health assessments (e.g. Over 75 health assessments)
• Chronic disease care plans
• First-line emergency care including the use of emergency equipment
• Patient recalls and reminders
• Cold chain management
• Infection control
• Assisting with practice accreditation

It is expected the successful applicants meet the following essential Skills and Experience:

• Appropriate Tertiary Qualification and current National AHPRA Registration
• Minimum 2-year nursing experience
• A genuine interest in Primary Care Nursing and understanding of the needs of General Practice
• Immunization Certificate or a good working knowledge of the current NSW Childhood Immunization Schedule
• Current CPR certification
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize competing workloads
• Ability to work independently and use initiative as well as being able to work as a reliable member of a team
• Provide a caring and collaborative approach to patient care
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Medical Software (Medical Director and Pracsoft)

Experience in emergency and/or child health is seen as desirable but not essential. Previous general practice experience will be highly regarded.
