Mildura General Nursing - Graduate Nurse Program
Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH) are seeking Graduate Registered Nurses for the 2025 Mildura General Nursing - Graduate Nurse Program.
About Us:
MBPH is a 172- bed (level 1) tertiary teaching hospital, offering services to both public and private patients. We are a major public referral health service for the Northern Mallee sub-region of the Loddon Mallee region of Victoria, the far west region of New South Wales, and the Riverland area of South Australia. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care and fostering professional growth for our staff.
Program Overview:
Our Graduate Registered Nurse Program is a structured and comprehensive program that provides recent nursing graduates with the knowledge, skills and support necessary to excel in their nursing careers. The program offers a well-rounded experience, combining hands-on clinical practice, mentorship and ongoing education.
The Mildura Base Public Hospital Graduate Registered Nurse Program (General) offers two intakes. The first intake will commence on 27th January 2025 to 15th February 2026 and the mid-year intake will commence on 10th June 2025 to 21st June 2026. Both intakes offer a 54 Week part-time 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) with option for full-time graduate position.
Program Highlights:
-Three-week extensive Orientation program: You will undergo a thorough orientation program to familiarise yourself with our facility, policies, procedures.
- Supernumerary time at the commencement of each rotation.
- Preceptorship: Each participant will be paired with an experienced nurse preceptor who will provide guidance, support, and facilitate learning throughout the program.
- Six additional paid study days to promote and encourage professional development.
Three clinical rotations: You will have the opportunity to gain experience in various speciality areas such as:
- Adult Medical,
- Adult Surgical / Paediatrics,
- Adult Medical / Surgical,
- Day Surgery / Recovery / Theatre,
- Sub-acute / Rehab / Palliative Care,
- ICU / CCU / HDU (combined unit)
- Emergency Department
- Mental Health

About you:
If you have been offered or successful in gaining a graduate year through PMCV, you will be ineligible to apply or be interviewed for this position.
You are currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing and will complete your degree in the academic year January 2024 to March 2025.
