ABOUT US

The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities.  We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better.  It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.

About the Role

Based in Southern Tasmania, this graduate position offers a valuable pathway for newly graduated or final‑year Social Work students to build their skills, knowledge and experience in family violence services. This is a max‑term contract until 30 June 2026, working 3 days per week (negotiable), with remuneration at SCHADS Level 4.1. Over a 6‑month development period, you will receive extensive training and support while providing place‑based and outreach case management to women, and women with children, who have experienced or are currently experiencing family violence. The role also includes delivering assessments and crisis responses, ensuring high‑quality, safe and effective family violence and child wellbeing support for those seeking safety, stability and recovery. With a reduced caseload, the Graduate Specialist Family Violence Practitioner will have the time and capacity to fully engage in skill‑building and practice development programs.

  • Identify risks to clients, staff and TSA, and escalate concerns promptly to the Team Leader
  • Recognise service gaps and provide recommendations for service delivery improvements
  • Meet key performance indicators within required timeframes
