Grounds Keeper / General Maintenance - Join A Market Leader - Part-Time

Perth Montessori is a boutique, independent, co-educational, inner-city school established in Burswood, Western Australia over 40 years ago. It has a long and proud history of offering high-quality, Montessori education to children from birth to 18 years.

We are currently seeking applications for a grounds / general maintenance person for a one day a week role (Can be split over 2 mornings).  Whilst the role is for one day a week, there may be times when additional hours of work may be required.  Please see requirements of the position below.

Grounds:

• Ensure that the school grounds and buildings are well maintained and presented
• To provide general grounds maintenance and landscaping. This typically    includes: mowing of lawns, general gardening/landscaping, cleaning  drains  and pits, sweeping/blowing paved areas and removing litter
• Watering of the grassed areas in line with watering regulations.
• Monitor and maintain where required external infrastructure including:
• Stormwater and drainage.
• Fences and gates.
• Concrete surfaces and paving.

Facilities/other:

• To provide maintenance and undertake repairs of a general nature. These  include: simple general plumbing (e.g. cleaning of stormwater drains,  electrical work (e.g. replacing light globes), general carpentry, painting,  cleaning and repairs
• Painting as required
• Removal of graffiti and other debris
• Keeping storage facilities clean and tidy
• Cleaning up and temporary securing of broken windows and doors
• Retrieving items from rooftops, and maintenance of gutters and drains.
• Unblock toilets
• Work cooperatively with a range of people including teachers, education  support, students, parents and contractors
• Undertake other duties relevant to the field of responsibility as requested by  the leadership team
