Purpose of the Position
To assist in maintaining an effective and efficient Health Information Service thereby contributing to the overall delivery of high quality and safe patient care.
To provide accurate and timely scanning of health record documents and maintenance of the Scanned Health Record System (SHR)
Duties
Accurate and timely scanning of health record documents in the Scanned Health Record (SHR).
Prepare health records for scanning.
Upload electronic documents into the SHR.
Perform quality activities on scanned documents.
Correct identified anomalies in the SHR.
Ensure and maintain the accuracy of patient information electronically.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with SJGHC policy.
Perform HIS Clerical duties as directed.
Respond to telephone and face-to-face enquiries from other departments and external organisations for requests for patient information.
Verify U.R numbers for pathology/x-ray results, correspondence and other miscellaneous reports.
Update the medical record tracking system promptly for all medical record movements.
Collect records from secondary storage areas.
Liaise with offsite storage contractor.
Participate in the ongoing development and training programs.
