BSPH - Billing Officer

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Billing Officer to join our friendly team at Brisbane South Private Hospital. 

Brisbane South Private Hospital offers specialist in women’s health, fertility, gynaecology, plastic surgery, dental and general surgery working from a new hospital facility in Springwood, we pride ourselves on delivering a new standard of care. The services focus around the individual needs of patients, offering a whole healthcare approach in a singular location.

What you’ll be doing:

• Accurate and timely billing & invoicing of Health Fund, Third Party & Medicare fees for inpatient, outpatient and medical services provided by the Hospital
• Pro-actively managing and resolving billing enquires from patients, health funds, medical officers and internal customers in a professional and efficient manner
• Timely and accurate banking and debtor management. Continually seeking new ways to improve efficiency, reduce errors and improve customer service
• Working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team comprising nursing, supply, billing and administrative staff
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a billing role

About you:

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• Previous experience in billing and debt collection
• Knowledge of private health fund contracts, business rules and claiming processes
• An understanding of revenue cycles and billing KPI's
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and focus on completing high quality work
• An ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
• Excellent time management and organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of Patient Management System – Fydo, Direct Control, WebPAS (or similar) and Microsoft Office (Excel)

Requirement of the role:

• Current Blue Card – Working with children (or willing to obtain)
• First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)
