We are seeking a pharmacist to partner with our Epic Pharmacy team at the highly regarded Mater Hospital, North Sydney. In addition to working in the hospital pharmacy dispensary, this role will also include hands-on clinical involvement. You’ll have the opportunity to provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients, ensuring that all pharmacy activities are completed to a high standard while supporting the quality use of medicines.

This is a permanent part-time position, working one shift per week each Monday from 9:00am until 2:15pm (10.5 hours per fortnight).

Hospital experience is not essential, we will provide the successful applicant with all of the support and training you need to help you to succeed in this role. Community pharmacists are welcome to apply.

In this role, you’ll:

• Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
• Conduct medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
• Coordinate patient medication requirements for inpatient stay and discharge
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
• Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
• Educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines

About the hospital:
Mater North Sydney is a 235-bed hospital providing care to (mainly) private patients. The hospital has 14 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter labs and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services, critical care, and intensive care services. The hospital also has Maternity, Renal, Cancer Care and Antimicrobial Stewardship services.

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an adaptable Registered Pharmacist who has strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise workload in order to deliver the best possible care to our patients.

You will also:

• Be a current AHPRA registered pharmacist with previous experience in an Australian based pharmacy
• Strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
• Have time management, communication and teamwork skills
• Be flexible and adaptable working with a diverse team
• Embrace change and commit to learning
• Value attention to detail and able to work autonomously

Eligibility Requirements:

• Previous dispensing and/or clinical pharmacy experience in an Australian community or hospital pharmacy is required.
