ABOUT QAC:

Established in 1990, Queensland Aerospace Pty Ltd, T/A Queensland Aerospace College (QAC), located in Brisbane, Australia, is a leading global aviation training provider with excellent standards of training in aviation maintenance and aerospace Engineering.

The College specialises in advanced aircraft maintenance engineer training, both theoretical and practical, on an impressive range of aircraft types, including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Cessna, Dassault Falcon, Embraer, Fairchild, Fokker, and Hawker Beechcraft.

QAC is also backed by approvals from the World's most foremost authorities on civilian aviation safety, the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

THE POSITION

This is a newly created position and we now seek an ambitious and highly motivated person to support our team and help grow our businesses to the next level.

The QAC Human Resources Assistant performs a critical role in supporting our training effort.

We operate in the aviation and education industries and as such the ideal candidate will have proven Human Resources experience within these markets.  You will be savvy, astute, and have a proactive and hands on approach to driving business.

ABOUT THE ROLE (primary duties and responsibilities):

  • Team rostering (workforce scheduling).
  • Administrator and Point of Contact for QAC HR software platforms.
  • Internal training and onboarding of all new staff.
  • Support around the employee life cycle.
  • Conduct staff Performance Appraisals.
  • HR Administration.
  • Staff records management.
  • Compliance management with relation to the company’s HR, Environmental and WHS policies, including arranging relevant training for company employees.

ABOUT YOU (required skills and education)

To be successful in this role, you will be someone who has previous experience in a similar role and are passionate about building long lasting and fruitful relationships with others.  You will also be an exceptional communicator on all levels, possess excellent organisational skills, and have a strong work ethic which will allow you to thrive working in this fast-paced environment.

You must:

  • Be Tertiary qualified) (Bachelor's degree) in human resources or related field.
  • Have Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or diploma.
  • Have 5 + years demonstrated experience of working as a HR Assistant or HR Coordinator.
  • Be fluent in English.  Fluency in other languages will be well regarded.
  • Have good working knowledge and skills in the use of software applications including but not limited to MS Office, Adobe, and Zoom.
  • Be skilled in the use of Electronic Data Management Systems.
  • Have a sound understanding of and and competence in using the Digital Workplace.
  • Be able to work under pressure and the ability to work to targets and specific 'HR' goals.
  • Possess excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Be capable of working effectively with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Possess solid analytical skills; personal accountability; strong organisational skills, and Performance Management experience.
  • Have attention to detail and an attitude of 100% compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Have ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials, excellent services within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Be quality focused, results oriented and customer minded.
