Job Description:

We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our team, working Monday to Friday from 9:30 am until 12 pm. As a Kitchen Hand, you will be crucial in ensuring our children receive nutritious and delicious meals that support their growth and development. Your responsibilities will include assisting with meal preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the chef with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and cooking.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring proper storage of food items.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards to ensure the health and safety of the children.
• Help with the delivery of meals to classrooms and assist with serving during mealtimes.
• Collaborate with the chef and other staff members to ensure the dietary needs and preferences of children are met.
• Assist with inventory management, including checking stock levels and restocking supplies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Passion for working in a childcare setting and contributing to the well-being of young children.
