Fremantle campus

Part-time, Continuing contract 0.8 FTE (fractional appointments considered)

About the role

The primary responsibilities are to work as part of a team to the establish, maintain and coordinate high-quality clinical education opportunities within the physiotherapy program and to deliver physiotherapy courses within the program. This includes working with academic colleagues, clinical facilities and relevant external stakeholders to ensure good governance, quality and relevancy in all areas of the clinical education, on-campus learning and teaching within the program and the student experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitating student placements including; liaising with facilities/supervisors, placement allocations and supporting students whilst out on placement.
  • The conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions and clinical sessions.
  • Initiation and development of course material.
  • Acting as subject coordinators.
  • The preparation and delivery of lectures and tutorials.
  • Involvement in research activities.
  • Involvement in professional activity.
  • Broad administrative functions.
  • Marking and assessment.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Registered Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapists Registration Board under AHPRA.
  • Possess or working towards a doctoral qualification in Physiotherapy or equivalent clinical experience and standing.
  • Significant clinical experience and knowledge/network within the clinical education domain is highly desirable.
  • In determining experience relative to qualifications, regard will be had to teaching experience, student supervision experience, experience in research, experience outside tertiary education, creative achievement, professional contributions and/or technical achievement. In addition, a position at this level will normally require a record of demonstrable scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline area.
