About the role

Reporting to the National Head of PPD Domain you will work within a campus-based and cross-campus collaborative team environment to ensure the provision of a high-quality and contemporary teaching and learning, assessment and evaluation program for post-graduate medical students. Examples of domain-specific themes that are specific to PPD include:

         Clinician wellbeing and professional identity formation

         Lifelong learning skills and reflective practice

         Person-centred models and ethical healthcare

         Professional behaviours and legal responsibilities

         Collaborative teamwork and inclusive health environments

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing delivery and development of the Personal and Professional Development (PPD) curriculum domain in alignment with contemporary pedagogical and programmatic approaches.
  • Contribute to domain-specific orientation sessions, curriculum delivery including teaching in small group tutorials, assessment and evaluation programs and maintenance of updated teaching materials, learning resources and related communications.
  • On the Sydney campus, co-ordinate face-to-face, online and hybrid teaching session delivery and contribute to the sourcing of expert speakers and session facilitators with support from academic and professional staff.
  • Work closely with a range of internal staff, external professionals, community members and contribute to staff recruitment, briefing, development, training and other related activities as required.
  • Display a scholarly approach to personal and professional development and health professions education work to assist with learning design and student outcomes across the MD program.
  • Consistently role-model the qualities and attributes associated with contemporary healthcare and key institutional objectives and a continued commitment to own personal and professional development.

Qualifications, skills & experience

Level B Teaching (Lecturer)

  • Medical qualification registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of a relevant professional body OR possession of a PhD OR a Masters level qualification in a relevant field with at least 5 years teaching experience in the Higher Education Sector.
  • Fellowship of a relevant professional body and/or significant progress towards and/or equivalent professional expertise in health professions education.
  • A Graduate certificate or higher in Health Professions Education and/or similar qualification is desirable.
  • Expertise in one or more streams of the Personal and Professional Development domain.
  • Creative problem-solving, critical thinking and demonstrated abilities in transformative and team-based leadership is highly desirable.

 

Lecturer C Teaching (Senior Lecturer)

  • Medical qualification registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of a relevant professional body OR possession of a PhD OR a Masters level qualification in a relevant field with at least 5 years teaching experience in the Higher Education Sector.
  • Fellowship of a relevant professional body and/or significant progress towards and/or equivalent professional expertise in health professions education.
  • A Graduate certificate or higher in Health Professions Education and/or similar qualification is desirable.
  • High level expertise in one or more streams of the Personal and Professional Development domain.
  • Creative problem-solving, critical thinking and demonstrated abilities in transformative and team-based leadership.
