Job Description - Legal Support Worker

We are seeking a diligent Legal Support Worker to join our energetic team at Western NSW Community Legal Centre in Dubbo, Dubbo & Central NSW.

Western NSW Community Legal Centre (WNSWCLC) is a not for profit non-government organisation providing free, accessible legal and non-legal services for people experiencing disadvantage across the Western regions of the state. WNSWCLC also provides a dedicated domestic violence unit, Western Women’s Legal Support,  with solicitors and caseworkers facilitating assistance to female victims of family and domestic violence.

The Role

As a key member of Western Women's Legal Support you will support solicitors and clients in a culturally safe and appropriate manner. You will  work collaboratively with solicitors, caseworkers, non-legal service providers and other stakeholders to provide a professional and holistic service to women experiencing, or at risk of, domestic violence. The role involves, but is not limited to; 

  • Client intake via telephone
  • Assisting with day to day management of client files 
  • liaison with other community service and health organisations 
  • Preparing letters and emails
  • Data entry

Temporary position until February 2025.  Part time 22 hours per week.   

Applicants should hold a current driver's licence and not have incurred a serious driving offence in the last two years. 

The successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal history check prior to commencement of employment.
