The role
A part-time opportunity exists in the Litigation & Dispute Resolutions practice group for an intermediate secretary to join the team in our Sydney office. The role will support two Partners, one Senior Associate, and number of Lawyers. The successful candidate will also work closely with other secretaries in the Litigation & Dispute Resolutions department.
Overview of key responsibilities
The range of duties the position is responsible for include:
- typing and collation of various legal documents;
- typing of various commercial contracts/ deeds/ agreements;
- typing of correspondence, memos and email communications;
- typing of dictation tapes;
- contact with clients and other internal staff by telephone and email;
- entry of timesheet data and preparation of client accounts (billing);
- file and diary management (including travel bookings);
- email filing and electronic file management;
- file maintenance and archiving; and
- other administrative tasks as required.
The successful candidate
The successful candidate will possess a committed, proactive and service oriented approach to work, demonstrating the following skills and experience:
- first class organisational and communication skills;
- advanced skills in Microsoft applications (particularly Outlook and Word);
- accurate typing, spelling, grammar and proof reading skills;
- experience in entry of timesheet data and preparation of client accounts (billing);
- previous experience in private practice;
- knowledge of Expert software (desirable); and
- experience in litigation (desirable).
