Job Description - Maternity Unit Manager

An experienced and talented midwife with management and leadership experience is sought to join BRHS as the Maternity Unit Manager. Unlock a rewarding career in East Gippsland, in regional Victoria, known for its stunning beauty, diverse ecosystems and vibrant communities

BRHS provides maternity services to women who are considered low to medium risk throughout the birthing continuum, in collaboration with other health care providers, particularly GP Obstetricians. The Unit recently renewed the “Baby Friendly Initiative” which BRHS has held since 1999, demonstrating our commitment to evidence-based, best-practice and providing the highest standard of maternity care to mothers and babies.

Join our highly experienced senior management team and with mentorship and leadership from the Executive of directorate, support from our Associate Maternity Unit Manager, Clinical Midwifery Consultant and Midwifery Educator, lead our dedicated team of midwifery professionals who proudly contribute to welcoming more than 340 babies into the community each year!

What this role offers you: Ongoing, Part-Time 64.0 hours per fortnight

Minimum criteria:

  • Current AHPRA registration as Registered Midwife
  • Minimum 5-year midwifery experience with previous experience in a clinical leadership position
  • Demonstrated leadership and management competence with the proven ability to manage day-to-day operations and oversee the effective planning and delivery of the service's business plan
