Medical Receptionist - Energetic Workplace - Part-Time

About Us 
We are a boutique specialist Cardiology practice based in Charlestown, with clinics located in Belmont and East Maitland.

About the Role 
We are currently looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team on a permanent part-time basis three days per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). Availability for holiday and sick relief will also be required.

The role is based in our Charlestown clinic, however, you will be required to assist across all locations.

As you will be the first point of contact for patients, you will be someone who is patient-focused, courteous and understanding. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is well organised with attention to detail and who can ensure a welcoming environment for our patients.  

Hours
This is a part-time opportunity 3 days per week, flexibility around hours of work can be negotiated for the ideal candidate, with scope to increase in the future.

If successful, you will be offered ongoing training opportunities as part of your ongoing professional development. 

Key responsibilities
Reporting to the practice manager your duties will include but not limited to: 

• answering and directing calls.
• scheduling of patient appointments
• meeting and greeting patients
• general administrative duties
• providing administrative support to the clinical staff as required. 
• provide holiday and sick relief as required. 

The salary will be according to your level of experience.

Essential Criteria 
We are looking for a candidate with a minimum two (2) years medical receptionist experience. 

Being a team player is an essential 

Excellent communication skills with a friendly and polite phone manner 

High level attention to detail

Understanding of confidentiality requirements for a medical practice

Have excellent computer skills (email, word and excel) 

High level of flexibility including the ability to cover holiday and sick leave as required.

Personal transportation and current drivers licence as you will be required to travel between the three clinic sites as needed.

Ability to learn new software 

Desirable Criteria  
Experience in a medical specialist practice will be highly regarded. 

Knowledge of Gentu (or similar) medical software.
