The Ministry Leader – Community Outreach plays a central role in supporting the Mandurah Corps community by leading the operations of the Community Connect Centre and contributing to the spiritual and missional life of the Corps. Working alongside volunteers, Corps Officers, and community partners, you will ensure programs, activities, and support services are delivered safely, effectively, and in alignment with The Salvation Army’s mission and values.
This is a permanent part-time position (0.6 FTE), working Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with some flexibility around afternoon hours.
Actively participate in the Corps Mission Team, contributing to spiritual direction and mission priorities.
Support the development and implementation of discipleship pathways within the Corps.
Create opportunities for community members accessing the centre to connect with TSA’s spiritual mission.
Provide pastoral care to volunteers and community members as appropriate.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Corps members, community participants, DHQ staff, and external support agencies.
Coordinate Community Connect programs and activities aligned with mission intentions and participant needs.
Oversee the receipt, sorting, and distribution of donated food (e.g., OzHarvest, SecondBite).
Manage daily operations of the Community Connect Centre, including Drop-In services.
Support the delivery of Doorways Emergency Relief and collaborate with Doorways Casework and Moneycare teams.
Recruit, induct, support, and oversee volunteers, ensuring compliance with TSA systems and processes.
Maintain accurate data across CrimCheck, VMS, LEARN and other platforms.
Ensure safe, effective, and mission-aligned service delivery across all activities.
Complete administrative and reporting requirements within required timeframes.
A mature Christian faith and the ability to discern God’s leading in a team context.
Qualification in community services or ministry (highly regarded), or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience in community services and volunteer leadership.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
A calm, professional approach, particularly when responding to community needs.
Commitment to The Salvation Army’s mission, values, and respectful service delivery.
Reliability, integrity, and a genuine desire to support the local community.
WA Driver’s Licence and First Aid certificate.
