The Salvation Army is seeking a creative, collaborative Ministry Resource Writer to develop high‑quality Christian ministry resources that support evangelism, discipleship, and faith formation across our diverse Faith Communities. You will work within a small team to produce a wide range of clear, practical resources for adults, children, and intergenerational settings, helping equip leaders and strengthen faith pathways across the movement.

This part‑time role offers 19 hours per week with flexible scheduling across 2–3 days (with potential for fewer hours for the right candidate). The position can be based anywhere in Australia, with a preference for Redfern, Sydney, and is remunerated at Hay Level 14

How you will make an impact

  • Create written resources for TSA Faith Communities, including small group guides, evangelistic tracts, intergenerational segment guides, sermon content, and more.
  • Write to provided briefs, incorporating feedback from subject matter experts and frontline users.
  • Partner with other Mission Support teams on approved writing projects.
  • Contribute to team brainstorms, offer constructive feedback, and engage in a collaborative creative process.
  • Continually refine and improve resources based on feedback and insights from corps and frontline ministry contexts.

What you will bring

  • 3+ years’ experience writing and editing to a brief.
  • Experience writing Christian ministry resources.
  • Experience using Christian ministry resources in practical contexts.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in theology, ministry, communications, or journalism.
  • Understanding of, or experience in, Salvation Army corps‑based ministry.
  • Experience writing and delivering sermons.
  • Working With Children Check (required).
