Position Profile and Role:

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced individual to the position of Nurse Practitioner for the Vascular Access service at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH). Join us and utilise your advanced practice skills and knowledge in providing exceptional healthcare to our young patients and their families!

Your role will involve:

  • Conducting advanced physical assessments, ordering, and interpreting diagnostic tests, referring patients to appropriate healthcare specialists, inserting vascular access devices and prescribing necessary medications and therapies.
  • Taking on a clinical leadership role when appropriate and coordinating and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of fellow healthcare professionals to deliver clinical services, and overall management of patients' health conditions.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice to enhance the care provided to paediatric patients.
  • Educating patients and their families about vascular access, procedures, and care to promote understanding and confidence.

    Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in management and insertion of Vascular Access Devices in a paediatric setting. Applicants with relevant experience as a Nurse Practitioner CVAD in adult care will be provided the opportunity for clinical support and education to enable a smooth transition into the paediatric practice environment. While prior experience in insertion, ongoing treatment and removal of Central Vascular Devices Therapy is desirable, suitable applicants will be supported with education in this area will be provided.
