We are seeking an adaptable Operations Manager Children, Youth & Futures to join our multidisciplinary team at Launceston City Mission in Newstead, Launceston & North East TAS.

Operations Manager Children, Youth and Futures – 30.4 hours

City Mission is looking for a passionate, motivated and strategic individual to lead the Children’s Youth and Futures team as Operations Manager. Based at The Ark in Newstead, the successful applicant will require excellent leadership and communication skills, dynamic thinking and the capacity to work in a diverse environment while supporting the teams to achieve the goals of the organisation. The role also fulfills the Child Protection Officer role for City Mission, requiring adherence to legislation and policy frameworks with attention to detail.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum – Degree in Education or associated qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Education or related field.
  • Demonstrated innovative strategic thinking and planning.
  • Strong relationship building, communication and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising diverse teams.
  • Skills in management reporting and budgeting.
  • Excellent Communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Highly Proficient with MS Office.
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Card.
  • Current valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Safeguarding the needs of children.
  • National Police Check is required for all roles at LCM.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience or demonstrated capacity to work in an organisation adopting a Christian ethos.
  • Experience in developing business case and service models.
  • Experience in trauma-informed practice.
  • Success in delivering support to children and young people with complex needs.
  • Experience working in the Community Services Sector.
  • Ability to maintain positive professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.

The Operations Manager Children and Futures will be responsible for the development and management of Children, Youth and Futures for the organisation across both in the North and North-West of Tasmania.  The role is expected to maintain current relationships with key stakeholders, whilst also building on and creating new ones.  Primarily, the Operations Manager Children, Youth and Futures is responsible for ‘The Mish’ youth programs, the Children’s Services programs, and the Mission2aFuture (M2aF) program. The role will also be responsible for overseeing the research, development and establishment of alternative education and development programs for children and youth.

This is a part-time position and salary will be based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. As a Public Benevolent Institution, LCM employees are eligible to Salary Package through our approved provider.
