Retail Security Officers: Part-Time

We are currently recruiting for a Retail Security Officer to be based at Westfield Chermside and Northlakes on a part-time basis.

If you are new to the security industry and are willing to learn new skills, Trident is more than happy to support you in your training towards your Certificate II or III in Security Operations.
Availability to meet a set roster on a four days on/four days off cycle rotating.
Duties include, but are not limited to, your ability to:
- Provide a high-quality front-line security service
- Identify, monitor and resolve risk
- Report and record incidents and various other activities as required
- Provide immediate response to medical and security incidents including emergency management in relation to site systems and processes
- Establish professional relationships with emergency services
- Deliver conflict resolution and de-escalation methodologies and practices when problem solving
- Ensure the protection of property and persons, the preservation of the peace and the protection of information
- Ensure a reduction in crime through the appropriate level of prevention, intervention, investigation, reporting and recording of crime within the portfolio – including, but not limited to, theft, wilful damage, assault, trespass and public nuisance offences
- Provide sound operational advice and guidance to other Security Officers, where appropriate to do so, ensuring best practice is always adopted
- Prioritise and delegate tasks to ensure that requests for assistance are responded to and provided in accordance with company policy and procedure
The minimum requirements for this position are:
- Valid Security Licence with Crowd Controller function
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Moderate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Outlook)
- Sound word processing skills with ability to write clear, articulate, and factual incident reports and update and maintain shift logs.
- Demonstrated security experience, or translatable real-world skills/experience
- Physical fitness (expect to walk around 30,000 steps per shift).
- Assertiveness
- Driver's license and own, reliable transport
