Payroll Officer - Part-Time

Coastal Dental Care is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our supportive and friendly team in Southport.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will see you lead our payroll processes and working with the HR team to ensure a seamless experience for our valued employees. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing payroll functions, assisting in maintaining the HRIS and Payroll system, Employment Hero, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll:

• Perform end-to-end payroll processing on a weekly basis for 250+ employees, ensuring payroll compliance with applicable awards, employment contracts, and all other statutory obligations
• Manage payroll adjustments and reconciliations, addressing any discrepancies.
• Accurate interpretation of the Health Professionals and Support Services Award and other instruments, including remaining abreast with changes.
• Assist in ensuring the HRIS and Payroll Software is maintained with accurate and up to date information.
• Collaborate with finance and HR teams to streamline payroll procedures and improve efficiency.
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and provide excellent customer service to employees.

End of Financial Year:

• Collaborate with finance team on end-of-year payroll reconciliations and reporting.

Other Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain employee records related to payroll.
• Identify and address issues related to payroll and onboarding processes, implementing effective solutions.
• Perform additional duties as requested by Financial Controller, commensurate with the level of the role and skills of the incumbent.

Qualifications & experience:

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
• Highly developed documentation, record keeping and file management skills
• Proven experience in payroll management and employee onboarding.
• Familiarity with relevant payroll awards.
• Strong proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
