Job Description - People & Culture Director - Energetic Workplace - Part-Time

  • Join the Executive Leadership Team and work closely with our Board and Advisory Councils
  • Lead the People & Culture function for Raise Foundation, with an emphasis on organisation and people strategy, volunteer management and learning and development
  • Work in a fast-paced, fun and exciting organisation, delivering best practice youth mentoring to over 2,000 at risk young people Australia wide,
  • A hybrid, permanent part time role, 30 hours per week, with competitive salary and salary packaging available.

About Raise:

At Raise we exist to help young people. We do one thing, and we do it really well – youth mentoring.

Our best-practice, school-based program is proven to make positive and sustained change. Mentoring empowers young people to be resilient, connected and hopeful for the future. We match trained and trusted volunteers with teenagers who would benefit most from an independent, caring adult who is there to listen and show up just for them.

Our early intervention youth mentoring program is currently in over 180 high schools across Australia. This translates to over 2,000 young people matched with a qualified mentor, and we are growing each year.

About the Role:

As part of our Strategic Impact Plan to deliver trusted and trained mentors to every young person in Australia who needs one, this position is accountable for leading our people, volunteer management, youth safety and learning and development strategy into the future.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this position has two direct reports and a total team of eight employees.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, this position works collaboratively with the CEO, other Directors and the Board in the development of strategic impact goals and projects and organisational long-term operational plans.

About You:

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A genuine interest in the wellbeing of young people facing challenges in their lives
  • Relevant degree in Business, and/or Human Resources.
  • Extensive People & Culture experience at the Director level with strong expertise in team development and leadership, organization strategy and design, talent attraction and development, culture and connection priorities and diversity and inclusion.
  • Prior experience leading volunteer management teams and learning and development teams will be highly regarded.
  • Experience utilising project and change management principles, processes, and tools.
  • Proven strategic and analytical thinker who is able to bring vision, clarity and commercial acumen to solving complex problems.
  • Confident communicator with C-level executives and Board Directors.
  • Strong capability to represent Raise to corporate, government, community, and education partners, if required.
  • A passion for creating change, leading by example, collaborating, and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships.
  • The ability to be agile with a hands on approach.
  • Experience in a fast-growing NFP organisation and/or entrepreneurial corporate or in the youth mental health sector (ideal).
  • An inclusive leader and strong people manager with an exceptional ability to engage, motivate and manage senior peers and direct reports.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office365, CRM (preferably Salesforce), cloud-based systems including One Drive, and Human Resource Information Systems (e.g. Employment Hero).
  • Willingness to undergo the Raise selection process including appropriate youth safety checks.
