About us
Direct Care Australia is an Aged Care, Mental Health and Disability community support provider across Adelaide, SA.
We support people with both high and complex support needs including domestic assistance, respite, social support and personal care.
Qualifications & experience
- Certificate III or IV in Disability/Individual Support/Aged Care is preferred
Enrolled Nurse are also encouraged to apply
- Italian speaking language is advantageous
Experience supporting people in a similar role would be beneficial
- Medication Administration Certificate advantageous
Full driver's licence and reliable fully insured vehicle
- Current First Aid/CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Current Manual handling certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Aged Care Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
National Criminal History Check (not more than 6 months old)
Smart phone required
Tasks & responsibilities
- Provide support to people including children with a wide range of disabilities up to complex care support
- As a front line employee you are providing daily support to persons with a physical and/or intellectual disability and/or age related support needs
- May involved Manual Handling, use of lifts and hoists, administration of medication, community and social access, transportation and personal care
- Availability to work across 5-7 days including passive and active night shifts
Ability to provide person-centered and consumer directed care
- Prior experience working with moderate to high challenging behaviours
Excellent written and spoken language skills including thorough case noting experience
- An ability to understand, listen and communicate with people who have limited verbal communication capabilities or who have English as a second language
