About Us

We are an Italian Restaurant in Parkside inspired by the recipes handed down from generation to generation. Memories of making pasta, biscuits and pizza with Nonna (our grandmother). Cooking with Nonna was always fun. And it was simple. It was holding onto the Artisan philosophy of food. Handmade dishes using the freshest ingredients. Ingredients that were allowed to speak for themselves. Whether it was Nonno’s (our grandfather) home grown tomatoes in the pasta sauce or the fresh fish a neighbour caught and gave to Nonna to cook. It all tasted wonderful.

Svago is looking to fill 2 positions

Part Time Pizza Maker/Chef

• We require a skilled Chef/Cook for a minimum of 25 hours who will be a team player and who has that "inner passion" and attention to detail who will show confidence and focus. Experience in Pizza, pasta and or grill section is a must. Must be used to working in a fast-paced environment, working autonomously and work well under pressure - so working hard but have fun at the same time.

The successful applicant will

• Have proven experience in hand stretching pizzas 
• Have had a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, with knowledge of Italian Cuisine
• Take pride in every dish served
• Uphold Health & Safety Procedures
• Always show strength & initiative 
• Ability to work without close supervision
• Monitoring portion and waste control
• Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
• Positive and approachable manner
• Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen and food safety standards
• Possess the relevant skills to be able to achieve the role required.

Part Time Front of House staff

• We require an experienced front of house staff member with a sound knowledge of table service and understanding of wines

The successful applicant will

• Have a responsible services of alcohol certificate 
• Have proven track record in table service
• Ability to upsell and provide great customer service
• Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
• Positive and approachable manner
