We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services.

About Journey to Social Inclusion (J2SI)

J2SI is an innovative and evidenced-based case management service for people experiencing long-term homelessness. It differs from traditional homelessness services as it provides the time needed for people to access their permanent home and have an improved quality of life and increased community connection. Staff have the ability to work intensively with small caseloads and use a combined key worker and team approach to deliver intensive individualised support for up to 3 years to each client.

About the role

As a Practice Lead, this is your opportunity to provide practice development and support to program teams through the provision of trauma informed support including clinical supervision, group reflective practice, secondary consultation, and training.

Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a permanent part-time role offering 19 hours per week, located in Frankston, VIC.

How you will make an impact

  • Provide trauma-informed, high-quality staff supports including individual and group supervision, reflective practice, secondary consultation on complex cases, and tailored training, in line with TSA supervision and risk management frameworks.
  • Contribute to organisational and consortium priorities by supporting the TSA Strategic Plan, National and state strategies and the J2SI Model of Care, participating in meetings and service planning, and contributing to practice development and evaluation activities.
  • Work collaboratively with J2SI staff, consortium partners, Senior Practice Leaders and service managers to strengthen relationships, share practice wisdom and contribute to a strong community of practice.
  • Engage with the broader sector by building positive relationships with local services and agencies and attending relevant network meetings as agreed with the manager.
  • Uphold professional, safety and quality standards by participating in supervision and professional development, maintaining a reflective practice culture, complying with OH&S requirements, and actively contributing to continuous quality improvement and trauma-informed practice.

What you will bring

  • A Tertiary qualification in Social Work/Psychology or a related field
  • Relevant post graduate qualification or demonstrated substantial experience in provision of practice supervision.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of development, attachment, and trauma theories as they relate to homelessness.
  • Knowledge of at least two evidence-based therapeutic approaches to supporting recovery from trauma as relates to long-term homelessness.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing trauma-informed support interventions such as practice-based supervision, group reflective practice, secondary consultation, training, and other professional development activities.
  • A current VIC drivers licence and employee Working with Children’s Check

Compensation is in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 6
