Are you a patient centered nurse, with excellence in clinical and interpersonal skills, looking for a highly regarded private practice position. Niche is growing our team with a new role to manage our cosmetic patients post operative surgical journey and recovery. Be guided by 3 experienced and highly respected Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, with specialities in Facial Cosmetic surgery, Body surgery, and Craniofacial at The Royal Childrens and Royal Melbourne hospitals, in their private practice located in Kew.

This role is to oversee the patient surgical journey at Niche, assist surgeons in minor procedures in rooms, and theatre preparation, while managing excellence in post-operative wound care for our patients.

  • The role requires 4 or 4.5 days per week. Permanent position - part time or fulltime considered. Hours varying between 8.30am -5pm.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a clinical setting
  • Training and guidance fully provided by experienced surgical nurses and surgeons
  • Minor theatre, post-operative, or wound care experience is highly regarded
  • Plastic and reconstructive or private practice experience highly regarded
  • Salary negotiable on experience - RN or EN welcome to apply

  • Work alongside an experienced Practice Manager to lead and oversee practice policies for the patient journey and recovery, guiding casual / part time nurses.

 

Duties:

  • Exceptional care for the patient during all aspects of their journey at Niche Plastic Surgery in a confident, caring, and professional manner
  • Patient liaison to assist patients in planning their post operative care and guiding them during their recovery after surgery
  • Assist surgeons in minor rooms procedures, including preparation of procedure rooms, surgical equipment, instruments, pathology, and disposables for each procedure
  • Wound care and treatment of post-operative patients including removal of sutures
  • Plan and oversee surgical hospital lists equipment preparation with practice manager
  • Manage fasting admission and post operative instructions with patients
  • Manage post-operative appointments, follow up calls, and pathology results
  • Oversee post operative appointment book with assistant manager
  • Assist Practice Manager to lead and coordinate nursing staff schedules and duties 
  • Assist in stock control and ordering
  • Input patient information into Genie accurately and efficiently
  • Sterilisation of instruments
  • Manage your clinic in a timely and professional manner
