Registered Nurse (Aged Care Industry) Part-Time - Energetic Workplace

Bathurst Seymour Centre is a centre for seniors’, people living with disability and their carer’s who reside in the Bathurst regional area.  Bathurst Seymour Centre supports clients to delay, or avoid altogether, the need to move into more complex aged care by being kept socially active and connected with their community.

Based in Bathurst and reporting to the Clinical Care Supervisor, Bathurst Seymour Centre is now seeking the part-time services of a Registered Nurse for approximately 3-4 days per week, working from 8.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.  There is some flexibility around when hours are worked.

The role is to provide clinical support and oversight through the delivery of primary health care to clients accessing My Aged Care (MAC) funding and or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants at the Bathurst Seymour Centre. In accordance with the Aged Care Quality Commission Clinical Governance Framework and current legislation.

About the Job

• Provide high quality evidence-based practice nursing care and will be responsible for initial and ongoing assessment and planning that informs delivery of safe and effective care and services provided at the centre delivering, managing, and overseeing procedures, medication administration, general health and diet, and restorative care. 
• Provide continuity of care to our clients through collaboration with all members of the client’s team internally and externally to our service.
• Mentor to other staff as required and be involved in completing relative quality improvement (QI) activities.
• Update and maintain all client records and liaise and provide updates to patients’ family members as required.

About You

You are passionate and empathetic about providing clinical care and have current experience in an acute care setting. You enjoy engaging with clients, relatives, staff, and volunteers alike, and demonstrate tolerance, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude.  

You demonstrate a high level of skills in the comprehensive assessment and management of older people with complex care needs and possess knowledge and experience dealing with aged care, wound care, continence, and dementia. 

You have an eye for detail, are highly organised and can manage multiple responsibilities at the same time.  You believe in standards and procedures and have an influential manner with non-clinical employees and volunteers in order to promote the adoption of quality healthcare at the Centre.  You have the ability to diffuse conflict and bring about harmonious outcomes. 

Qualifications and Experience

• AHPRA Registration and Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 3 years’ post graduate experience in aged care, rehabilitation, or a community setting.
• Knowledge of My Aged Care and NDIS is highly regarded.
• Fully Vaccinated for Influenza and completion of 3 COVID19 vaccination doses.
• NDIS worker check.
• Be proficient in IT systems (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams)
