The program provides timely intake, assessment, and short-term therapeutic support, helping young people navigate pathways into the right services while feeling heard, respected, and supported.

Your role, your impact

As a Senior Intake Clinician, you will be a trusted first point of contact for young people and families seeking mental health support. Your work will shape safe pathways into care, reduce distress, and ensure people are met with compassion, clarity, and dignity from the very first interaction.

  • Respond to crisis and complex presentations, using sound clinical judgement and ethical decision-making
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation, including assessments and case notes

Who we’re looking for

You are someone who brings warmth, clarity, and calm to complex situations. You are confident in your clinical judgement and grounded in person-centred, inclusive practice.

You bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in mental health, psychology, social work, youth work, AOD, or a related field
  • Experience in youth mental health and recovery-oriented practice
  • Strong intake, assessment, and risk management skills
  • Sound judgement while remaining compassionate and flexible
  • A team-oriented mindset and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel between Epping and Knox locations

What will make you stand out

  • Experience delivering brief or single-session interventions
  • Experience working within youth mental health or community-based services
  • Confidence navigating complex systems and service pathways
  • A deep understanding of the challenges young people and their family/carers face today
