Job Description - Senior Paediatrics Physiotherapist

Company Description

Welcome to Ability Action Australia!

We are one of the largest providers to the NDIS, supporting over 10,000 participants every year with the care they need, when and where it is needed. We have a multi-disciplinary team approach, building a quality support service around the needs and goals of our participants and their family.

Help us help others with life changing support that can improve their independence, access, development, health and wellbeing, and function.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist to be part of our multidisciplinary team in Newcastle.

You will play a vital role in providing high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy services to children with a wide range of developmental and physical needs, making a significant difference to their development and wellbeing.

We will provide you with a bucket load of structured supervision, mentoring and CPD opportunities - as well as opportunities to provide this support to junior staff if this is an area of interest.

We promise to invest in you, so you can thrive in our fast-paced, energetic, and fun workplace. No two days are ever the same! You might find us in childcare centres, schools, day programs, homes, in the pool or at the park, and / or our clinic spaces. You might find us assisting someone to sit, stand or walk for the first time, teaching new gross motor skills so they can be included in play with their peers or prescribing assistive technology to increase their independence with their daily life. We have regular team meetings, team building events and enjoy a fun and dynamic work environment where all teams have the opportunity to grow and learn together, and where all our team enjoy collaborating frequently as a multidisciplinary team.

Our purpose is to help our participants get more out of life today! We pride ourselves on our culture, clinical excellence, and stewardship. As a diverse team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, key workers, and behaviour support practitioners we each have unique passions and strengths to bring to the team.

If you share our passion for disability and have a strong passion for paediatrics, we would love to hear from you!

Successful candidates will be providing supports to cover NDIS participants living in Newcastle & surrounding areas.

On a daily basis, you will be:

  • Managing an allocated paediatric caseload and completing therapeutic services in a timely manner
  • Providing assessment of participants developmental and physical level of function and capacity through clinical observation and standardised assessments
  • Interpreting findings to formulate treatment and therapy goals unique to each participant
  • Providing holistic evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants get more out of life
  • Maintaining awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance

    Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

    • Current registration with AHPRA as a Physiotherapist
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
    • A pro-active attitude and interest in continually developing your skills
