ReadyUp Skills is a youth development program that assists young people to understand the world around them as they enter adult life after school. Our aim is to develop confidence through skills such as independent living, creativity, road safety as well as health and wellbeing and work readiness including access to accredited learning opportunities. These programs are designed to build confidence in the young people accessing our NDIS, Community and High School Based programs.
We are currently looking for an experienced, self motivated Senior Skill Facilitator to deliver quality services across our Charlestown, Kurri Kurri sites and remotely throughout the community.
You will be part of a dynamic team that delivers person-centred support to assist higher functioning participants to build self confidence, understand adult responsibility and maintain a quality of life with dignity, respect and social inclusion.
About the Role
- At all times perform as a role model for participants and other team members in terms of attitude, behaviour and professional conduct.
- Be experienced in the NDIS and NSW Disability Service Standards guidelines, requirements, policies and procedures, provide guidance to less qualified team members.
- Support the Managing Director in the provision of services, including scheduling and program delivery.
- Identify and report to the Managing Director growth areas for the team and individual employees.
- Support the Managing Director in program development, review and updates.
- Ensure all administrative records are completed within required timeframe.
- Undertake special duties/projects as requested by the Managing Director.
- Be aware of and work within the premise of duty of care and dignity of risk.
- Work in the office or in the field independently and manage your time accordingly.
- Develop and implement strategies to support participant behaviour needs.
- Mentor and train new staff.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 24 months experience working in the disability sector is preferred.
- Cert IV Disability, Community Services or Youth Work
- Team leadership and people management skills.
- Time management and priority management skills.
- High level of communication skills.
- Experienced in client liaising.
- High level understanding of risk management process .
- Genuine willingness to assist people with a disability.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office programs.
- Understanding of the barriers experienced by young people with a disability.
- Experience with rostering.
