We also showcase special dates in the calendar such as NAIDOC Week and Disability Awareness Day and community events such as the Broken Heel Festival with live outside broadcasts.

We run formal training programs for aspiring radio presenters across the year and offer informal mentoring outside of these to support volunteers in launching and developing their programs. Our volunteers are diverse with a range of skills and abilities mirroring the community we live in. We celebrate diversity and provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive team environment.

2DRY FM is an integral part of the local community and we are proud to have won the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia’s national award for Best Community Engagement in 2023!  All of these achievements have supported us to secure grant funding for further station development.

This role is extremely interesting and diverse with no two days being the same and requires an energetic and community-minded person with the ability to handle a range of different tasks. The role is both autonomous and collaborative and will include community outreach, volunteer coordination, grants, revenue growth, governance and project management.

Working under the support and guidance of a passionate and long-serving Board, core activities include:

  • Marketing & communications including social media and the website, reporting etc.
  • Board reporting and working collaboratively to achieve the strategic plan.

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion and energy for community development, diversity and relationship building. If you have worked for a not-for-profit community organisation that’s a bonus.
  • Excellent general business and administration skills to be able to put together compelling communications strategies, write policies, manage grants and budgets, develop marketing content etc.
  • Good problem-solving skills and adaptability to handle unexpected priorities with flexibility as the core hours will be Monday to Friday but there will be requirements for weekend and evening work to support special events and activities.
  • If you have experience in radio or media production that’s a plus, however, we can support you with internal training and we have a team of radio experts on hand to support our volunteers.

The hours will be 22.5 a week minimum with extra hours to deliver grant-funded projects. 2DRY FM offers a range of professional development opportunities via an excellent training program delivered by the Community Media Training Organisation.
